Deputy Nursery Manager - Full Time

We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our growing nursery group and support the daily leadership of our beautiful Montessori setting.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, high standards of care, and an exceptional learning environment for children aged 0-5. You will take responsibility for leadership in the manager's absence and play a key role in staff development, compliance, and quality practice.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery. Uphold and model Montessori principles and EYFS requirements. Lead, coach and mentor staff, ensuring high-quality practice in every room. Support with staffing, rotas, supervisions, training, and new staff inductions. Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and Ofsted requirements are met at all times. Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, staff, and external agencies. Support occupancy growth, parent tours, enquiries and maintaining our outstanding reputation. Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (or Deputy DSL), once training is completed.
Requirements

Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 4/5 desired). Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and compliance expectations. Experience in a leadership or senior practitioner role (Senior/Room Leader or above). Montessori experience or a genuine interest in Montessori pedagogy (training provided). Excellent communication, organisational and people-management skills. Ability to inspire, support and motivate a team.
