We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a background in early childhood education or nursery experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a nurturing environment, contributing to the development and well-being of children while leading a team of childcare professionals. Duties
Assist the Manager in overseeing the smooth running of the nursery or Nursery by being primarily floor based
Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
Supervise daily activities, ensuring safety and engagement for all children
Lead and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and wellbeing
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and policies
Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning activities, and maintaining a clean, safe environment
Step into the Manager's role in their absence, making decisions to ensure operational continuity
Qualifications
Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development
Experience working with children, ideally within nursery or preschool settings
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare) or equivalent
Valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation duties if required
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating initiative and organisational skills
