Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the overall management of our nursery, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for early childhood education, working closely with staff, children, and parents to foster a positive learning atmosphere.

Duties

Assist the Nursery Manager in the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Lead and motivate a team of childcare professionals, promoting high standards of care and education. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and wellbeing. Manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a cohesive team environment. Drive initiatives that enhance the educational experience for children aged 0-5 years. Oversee the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development. Maintain accurate records related to children's progress and nursery operations. Support the creation of a welcoming environment that encourages parental involvement.

Experience

Proven leadership experience within a childcare or educational setting is essential. Strong command of English, both spoken and written, to facilitate effective communication with staff and parents. Experience working with children in an educational or childcare capacity is highly desirable. A background in early childhood education or related qualifications is preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. A genuine drive to support children's development through engaging activities and programmes.

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or above) Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements Experience in a senior or supervisory role within early years A child-centred approach and a passion for delivering high-quality care and education Excellent communication and leadership skills
