We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join our family, bringing in new ideas and experiences to enrich a thriving early years provision. The role involves being on the nursery floor for most of the time to support our Early Years Educator colleagues to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The Deputy Nursery Manager will share with the Nursery Manager the overall responsibility for the day to day safeguarding, health and safety practices, and child protection in the setting. They will be supported by the Nursery Manager to embed inspirational early years practice in the nursery through continuous improvement, regulatory compliance and preparations for OFSTED inspections.
What we expect from our Nursery Deputy Manager:
A level 3 or higher Early Years Childcare qualification
A robust understanding of the latest EYFS framework
Good awareness of planning, observing and record keeping procedures
Experience with "in the moment planning" desirable but not essential
Experience of implementing nursery safeguarding policies and procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills to lead, manage and inspire a team successfully
Proven record of staff motivation, wellbeing and retention
Excellent written communication skills to draft short reports, newsletters and emails
Excellent time management and organisation skills to manage own workload
A minimum of two years experience in a nursery management/senior position
