Summary

We are seeking a

Room Based

Deputy Manager to join our dynamic team at Millennium First Steps in Hitchin. In this vital role, you will support the management team in delivering exceptional childcare services aligned with our mission of fostering diversity and development. Your leadership will help shape a caring environment where children thrive.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the childcare facility. Support staff in delivering high-quality early childhood education. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Foster a positive, inclusive environment for children and staff. Contribute to planning and implementing educational activities. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians. Lead by example to promote teamwork and professional development. Support recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.

Qualifications

Proven management and leadership experience within childcare or early childhood education. Strong understanding of nursery operations and child development principles. Excellent communication skills in English. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Valid driving license is preferred but not essential. Experience working with children in a nursery setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to childcare. Passion for fostering inclusive and supportive environments for children.
