We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. The Deputy Manager will assist in overseeing staff, ensuring high standards of care, and maintaining effective communication with parents and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Assist the Manager in the organisation and supervision of daily centre activities, ensuring smooth operation.
Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes aligned with early childhood development principles.
Lead and motivate staff members, fostering a positive team environment focused on professional growth and excellent childcare standards.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding policies to create a secure environment for children and staff.
Maintain effective communication with parents, providing updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
Oversee administrative duties such as record keeping, attendance monitoring, and reporting requirements.
Support recruitment, training, and performance management of nursery staff as required.
Promote inclusive practices that respect diversity and individual needs within the centre.
Experience
Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team effectively.
Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments.
Knowledge of nursery regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Previous experience with children who have diverse needs is desirable.
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate centre-related travel or home visits when necessary.
