We are seeking a dedicated and experienced

Nursery Deputy Manager

to support the smooth running of our nursery and ensure a high standard of early years education and care for children. You will assist the Nursery Manager in the daily operations, providing leadership, supervision, and support to staff, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to take a key role in delivering outstanding childcare services.

Key Responsibilities:



Leadership & Management:

Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operations of the nursery. Act as the Manager in their absence, ensuring the nursery operates efficiently and maintains high standards of care. Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to create a positive and inclusive environment. Assist in staff development, including conducting appraisals, providing feedback, and identifying training needs.

Curriculum & Care:

Ensure that the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is delivered effectively and appropriately. Maintain a high standard of teaching and care practices, ensuring that each child's developmental and learning needs are met. Work closely with staff to plan and implement creative and stimulating activities, adapting the curriculum for individual needs. Monitor children's progress, ensuring accurate records are kept and shared with parents or guardians.

Health & Safety:

Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices comply with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Safeguard the welfare of the children, ensuring child protection procedures are followed.

Parent Engagement:

Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, acting as a key point of contact. Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, addressing any concerns promptly. Support the Nursery Manager in organizing parent meetings and nursery events.

Operational Duties:

Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new staff. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Ofsted requirements, and support with inspections. Manage resources and materials efficiently, ensuring the nursery is well-equipped. Contribute to the nursery's business strategy and support the Manager with budgeting, marketing, and enrollment activities.

Requirements:



Qualifications:

Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years or Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ). Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). A thorough understanding of the EYFS framework.

Experience:

Previous experience in a senior role within a nursery or early years setting. Experience leading and motivating a team. Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety regulations.

Skills:

Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. Proficient in record-keeping and report writing.

Desirable:



Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks. Experience in nursery administration or management. Understanding of the local community and family engagement strategies.

Pay: 34,000.00-36,000.00 per year
