We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly organised Nursery Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of our clients nursery. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure high standards of care, compliance, and early years education. This role involves both leadership responsibilities and hands-on work with the children.
Key Responsibilities - Leadership & Management
Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations across all age groups.
Lead, support, and motivate staff to deliver exceptional childcare and education.
Assist with staff supervision, appraisals, training, and onboarding.
Help manage staff rotas to ensure appropriate ratios at all times.
Act as the designated person in charge in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
Childcare & Education
Ensure the curriculum is delivered in line with the EYFS framework.
Oversee planning, observations, and assessments to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
Promote and maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children.
Build strong relationships with children and parents, providing excellent communication and support.
Compliance & Safeguarding
Ensure the nursery remains compliant with Ofsted regulations and all relevant policies.
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene.
Keep accurate records, including accident forms, risk assessments, and daily logs.
Administration
Support with updating documentation, policies, and procedures.
Assist with enrolment, tours, and parent communication.
Contribute to audits, quality checks, and preparation for inspections.
Requirements:
Level 3 or Level 5 in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent).
Experience in a senior practitioner or deputy managerial role within an early years setting.
Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
