We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role is pivotal in supporting the daily operations of our childcare facility, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children. The Deputy Manager will collaborate closely with the Manager to implement educational programmes and maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Lead and motivate staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development. Develop and implement engaging early childhood education programmes that promote children's learning and development. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, ensuring confidentiality is upheld. Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. Manage staffing schedules, including recruitment and training of new staff members. Support the Manager in financial management tasks as required.

Requirements

Proven experience in a management role within a childcare setting is essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Experience working with children, preferably in a nursery or early years education setting. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate travel between locations if necessary. A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare. Relevant qualifications in childcare or early childhood education are advantageous.
