About The Little Magpies Nursery
We are thrilled to welcome you to The Little Magpies team! As a new setting set to open, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to help lead our fantastic team. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of something new and exciting, where you can truly make an impact from day one.
Our nursery offers a large, spacious setting with six rooms, an expansive outdoor play area, and the potential to expand into a nearby forest area once fully operational. We are a child-led environment, fostering independence and creating a home-from-home atmosphere for the children in our care.
What Does the Role Involve?
Work closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of the nursery and ensure a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for the children.
Develop and implement activities, resources, and opportunities that support the children's developmental needs in line with external guidelines.
Communicate effectively with parents to ensure fee payments are up to date and that they are satisfied with the care their child receives. You will also manage the invoicing, collection of payments, and banking processes.
Support the training and development of nursery staff, providing mentoring and coaching to ensure job satisfaction and performance.
Step in as the acting Nursery Manager during the Manager's absence, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Lead by example, balancing office-based duties with being actively engaged on the nursery floor.
Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines, including being a keyholder and maintaining quality assurance.
Safeguard the wellbeing of the children in your care and ensure safeguarding protocols are strictly followed.
What Are We Looking For?
A minimum of Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualification.
At least 1 year of experience in a senior or management role within a daycare nursery.
Ability to provide two suitable references before employment.
Safeguarding and First Aid certifications are desirable but not essential.
Strong communication skills and a passion for early childhood education.
In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted inspection framework, with a demonstrated ability to implement this in practice.
A welcoming personality, eagerness to learn, and commitment to team development.
Enhanced DBS check required before employment.
