An exciting opportunity has arisen within our management team here at Mel stop stop we are looking for an experienced confident and inspirational deputy manager who will be able to step into the manager role when the manager is off or unavailable, delivering the highest standards of education and care.

who can delegate tasks effectively to staff team while taking responsibility of the outcome who can help the staff team to follow our policies and procedures

*you will need to have a recognised early years qualification Level 3 or above

a minimum of two years experience working with children in a day nursery setting previous team leading experience as a deputy or room lead have a real passion for working with children
be flexible and punctual

Key Responsibilities:



To promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences that are offered to the children. To promote the vision of the Nursery. To create a welcoming and family friendly environment for our children, parents and staff. To ensure that all children receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development. To ensure that the practice and provision meets the requirements of the EYFS. To work with the manager and staff team to enhance and implement the Nursery policies and procedures and working practices. To ensure that all children are safeguarded and that staff fully understand the settings safeguarding procedures. To contribute to the planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the nursery. To undertake the role of DSL for safeguarding and child protection. To ensure effective communication between the nursery team and all partner organisations. To keep a register and up to date records of all children on roll and to give regular feedback to parents about their child's development and progress. To be responsible for monitoring of students in the nursery. To provide strong effective leadership and management to the nursery team. Create and maintain a culture of reflective practice throughout the nursery. To undertake regular performance reviews, team meetings and staff supervisions. To be responsible for the identification of staff training needs and facilitate training opportunities. Proactively represent the nursery within the local community. Promote the nursery to potential new customers and support the director and Manager with any marketing campaign. To be able to work on your own initiative. Ensure the nursery is fully compliant with Ofsted registration requirements. To ensure the nursery is staffed to the required levels at all times. To implement policies and procedures and working practises. To undertake induction and other training opportunities when available (compulsory training to include first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding). To actively contribute as a team member of the Nursery. To facilitate team meetings (monthly) some which will be out of working hours. To attend any conferences, mandatory training events or meetings as identified by the Nursery Owner and to keep up to date with current good practice and legislation. To liaise with parents and other professionals in respect of children with special educational needs. To advise and support other practitioners in the setting. To undertake any administrative duties necessary to support the Nursery. To be responsible for the implementation of Health & Safety requirements as necessary to all aspects of work ensuring the nursery remains compliant at all times. To be responsible for control of resources and equipment. Take responsibility as a key holder. To carry out duties and responsibilities required under the Data Protection act 2018, in particular to take responsible care that no unauthorised loss or disclosure of confidential personal data occurs.

You are required to hold a minimum level three early year's qualification. Experience of working in a leadership role. Experience of working with children 0-5 years. Experience of working with vulnerable children & families. Experience of planning and delivering quality childcare which meets the individual needs of children and their families, including children with SEND. Experience of planning and implementing the EYFS. Experience of leading a staff team.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Good organisational skills. Ability to motivate and inspire the staff team.

Ability to relate to broad cross section of the community. Ability to use own initiative, as well as the ability to work with others. Ability to work with outside agencies. Ability to provide quality childcare that promotes learning and development free from prejudice. Ability to maintain a flexible approach. Willingness to comply with company policies, procedures and working practises.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding requirements.

Knowledge and understanding of professional childcare practice. Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted Welfare Requirements. Understanding and commitment to implementing Equal Opportunities throughout your work. Knowledge and understanding of The Code of Practice.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 28,000.00-30,000.00 per year
