We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our award winning day nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and childcare. Duties
Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained
Support staff in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Supervise staff members, providing guidance and mentorship to foster a motivated and cohesive team
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and statutory requirements
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre activities
Organise rotas, manage attendance records, and support staff recruitment processes
Support children's behavioural management strategies in line with centre policies
Contribute to the planning of curriculum activities that meet early childhood education standards
Skills
Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise confidently with staff, parents, and external agencies
Experience working with children, particularly within early childhood education or nursery environments
Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards
Ability to demonstrate organisational skills and manage multiple priorities effectively
Experience with children who have diverse needs is desirable
Driving licence is preferred to facilitate centre-related travel or home visits if required
