Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. A Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent qualification is required for this position. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment where children can thrive, while working closely with the management team to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.

Duties

Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily running of the nursery or childcare facility Support staff in delivering high-quality early childhood education programmes Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe environment for children and staff Engage with children to support their developmental needs through planned activities and play Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and wellbeing Assist in organising staff rotas, training sessions, and administrative tasks Drive company policies on safeguarding, inclusion, and behaviour management

Skills

Proven management and/or leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages Experience working with children, ideally within nursery or preschool environments Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a professional approach Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to childcare environments
