We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for early childhood education and childcare management. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, whilst assisting the management team in maintaining high standards of care and organisation. Previous nursery experience and strong leadership skills are essential for this position.
Duties
Assist the Manager in overseeing daily centre operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and policies
Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs
Supervise staff members, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
Engage with children to promote their learning, development, and well-being through interactive activities
Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre updates
Ensure health and safety procedures are rigorously followed at all times
Organise staff rotas, monitor attendance, and assist with recruitment processes when necessary
Support the organisation of nursery events and activities to enhance the centre's community engagement
Drive centre initiatives forward by contributing innovative ideas for programme development
Requirements
Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments
Knowledge of child development principles and nursery regulations
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transport needs if required
Passionate about providing high-quality care and education for young children
