We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our newly opened childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood development and be committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. The Deputy Manager will support the Manager and assistant the team in the absence of the Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise management and leadership skills while supporting children's learning and wellbeing. Applicants should possess relevant experience with children and childcare, along with excellent communication skills in English.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
Supervise children throughout the day, including during play, meal times, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety at all times
Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills among children
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support individual needs and developmental goals
Manage daily operational tasks within the nursery setting, including organisation of resources and maintaining hygiene standards
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and nursery policies
Support staff with planning and delivering activities
Support the Manager and track children's absences and development.
To ensure the day runs smoothly for all children
To ensure that parents and children have a good experience and implement new ideas, with the Manager and the team.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst demonstrating initiative and organisation skills
