Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the overall management and operation of our childcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for early childhood education, and experience working with children. You will work closely with the Manager to ensure that high standards of care and education are maintained, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all children.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager in the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies. Provide leadership and support to staff, promoting a positive team environment. Oversee the planning and implementation of educational programmes that meet the developmental needs of children. Engage with parents and guardians, maintaining open lines of communication regarding their child's progress. Ensure that all health and safety standards are upheld within the facility. Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and education, providing guidance where necessary. Conduct regular assessments of children's development and well-being. Participate in training and performance management of staff.

Experience

Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting is essential. Background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications in childcare is highly desirable. Experience working directly with children, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and development stages. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English. Ability to drive is preferred to facilitate transportation for staff training sessions. A commitment to ongoing professional development in childcare practices.
