, all meals and snacks are prepared onsite from scratch, and we are committed to offering nutritious, high-quality food every day.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in child nutrition, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain the highest standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare fresh, wholesome vegetarian and egg free meals and snacks daily, meeting the nutritional needs of young children.
Adapt dishes to support allergies, intolerances, and cultural dietary needs.
Work collaboratively with the Head Chef at our other branch and both management teams to plan menus and develop seasonal, rotating meal plans.
Serve food in an age-appropriate and safe manner, ensuring the correct meals are given to children with allergies or additional dietary needs.
Maintain exceptional hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, following Environmental Health, Food Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
Manage stock effectively, ensuring correct rotation, monitoring supplies, and placing orders as needed.
Keep accurate and compliant food safety and hygiene records.
Liaise with the childcare team regarding food for activities, special events, and individual dietary requirements.
Complete daily cleaning tasks, including washing up and cleaning equipment, fridges, microwaves, and storage areas.
Attend quarterly staff meetings and support occasional open days or nursery events.
Requirements
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred but not essential).
Previous experience in a nursery or childcare kitchen is essential.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
A positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families.
Ability to work between
8am-6pm, Monday to Friday
