Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our team and nursery cook to support the smooth running of meal times and contribute to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the dining room and kitchen in line with Food Hygiene and Food Standards Agency Regulations. We are a family-run, friendly and passionate team and we are looking for the perfect candidate to join us in providing the best care and nutrition for young children.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the cook. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Help with the organisation and storage of food items, ensuring that all ingredients are labelled and stored correctly. Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a tidy workspace. Support the nursery cook during meal times, preparing food, dining areas and cleaning the environment after service.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential. Basic understanding of food safety practices. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Strong organisational skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
