About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and organised

Kitchen Assistant

to join our nursery team. This role is essential in supporting the smooth running of our kitchen and ensuring children receive nutritious meals and snacks in a safe, clean environment.

Working in a busy early years setting, you'll be responsible for preparing snacks, assisting with simple meal preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy.

standards Clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils Wash up and maintain a tidy kitchen throughout the shift Support allergy and dietary requirement procedures Report any stock shortages or equipment issues to the Nursery Manager

Requirements

Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role (nursery or school setting preferred but not essential) Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Understanding of Health & Safety and food safety regulations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good time management and attention to detail Friendly and professional manner
