Alongside working directly with children, we support families through tailored guidance and training and work with mainstream settings to promote inclusive practices.
The Role
As an Early Years Practitioner, you'll be a vital part of our team--supporting the daily operations of the centre and helping each child reach their full potential. You'll take on the role of Key Person for a small group of children, planning and delivering personalised, play-based learning. You'll also build strong relationships with families and collaborate with a range of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Create a warm, safe, and engaging environment in our playrooms
Plan and deliver activities that support holistic development
Act as Key Person--observe, assess, and plan personalised support for each child
Build trusting, supportive relationships with families and carers
Assist with preparing reports for EHCPs and EHCNA requests
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and occasional fundraising events
What We're Looking For
Essential:
NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning & Development (or equivalent), or currently working towards it
Kind, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to working with children and families
Strong understanding of the importance of play in early development
Ability to adapt activities to suit children with diverse needs
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Sound knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practices
Desirable:
Experience working with children with SEND
Familiarity with EHCP processes and related documentation
Additional Information
Occasional availability for cover at other centres (by mutual agreement)
Participation in up to 4 voluntary fundraising events per year (additional events are paid)
