As a Nursery School Manager your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring the physical health and well-being of children within the Nursery
Taking full responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within the setting
Taking full responsibility for ensuring delivery of the EYFS curriculum
Ensuring extra-curricular activities meet the requirements of the EYFS
Take responsibility for planning to ensure each child is working towards early learning goals
Ensuring systems are in place for accurate reporting and monitoring
To organise and participate in the key person system
Working closely with the setting SENCo in all aspects of SEN
Ensuring there is appropriate and timely liaison with external specialists/professionals
To develop partnerships with parents to increase involvement in their child's development.
Taking full responsibility for staffing (including induction, training and development)
Ensuring the setting adheres to staff ratios and staff deployment
Ensuring the safer recruitment process is adhered to for new hires
Completing the weekly rotas and registers for staff and children attendance
Providing the required policies and procedures and the necessary support
To conduct staff appraisals/supervisions as appropriate and to identify staff training needs
We are seeking a Nursery School Manager who can work for the full 45 week academic year, and for full time hours each week (there is potentially flexibility regarding the number of weeks / hours for the suitable candidate). Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School is situated in Banstead, Surrey, and the setting is open for 45 weeks per year (39 weeks corresponding to the Surrey County Council term dates and 6 weeks during certain holiday periods.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification or above
Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Experience within an Early Years leadership role (ideally as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager)
Experience of participating with a regulatory inspection, leading to a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcome
Experience of effective team leadership and for developing high performance teams to deliver high quality education.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers
