Glenbervie Kindergarden, Brighton's is a family owned nursery, (50 place), with an excellent reputation. Brighton's is one of our three nurseries and we also have three Out of School Clubs. Glenbervie Kindergarden has been operational since 2003, with Brightons being open for 10 years this year and we are now looking for an experienced Nursery Manager with a proven track record to enable the setting to continue to grow and flourish. The management structure includes a deputy manager and a general manager who oversees the three nurseries.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, driven, dedicated, passionate and influential Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our vibrant, caring, and high-quality early years setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of the Early Years sector. This role requires excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage staff, engage with parents, and ensure a nurturing environment for all children. Excellent leadership skills and good organisation skills are essential in this role.
You'll ensure high quality care and learning for all children to ensure each individual reaches their full potential.
Duties
Manage the overall operations of the busy nursery environment, ensuring compliance with relevant national and local regulations as well as with company policy and procedure.
Ensure effective and developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promotes children's development.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children.
Conduct yourself in a highly professional manner with all service users.
To take a lead role, motivate, recruit, train, and support nursery staff to foster a collaborative and positive working relationship.
To keep up to date with early years initiatives and to participate in continuous professional learning.
Maintain and encourage high standards of childcare practice.
Maintain a safe, clean, inclusive and stimulating environment for children to thrive in.
Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's reputation within the community.
Monitor children's progress and adapt programmes to meet individual needs.
Manage and control the nursery budget and carry out administration duties.
Ensure resources are of a high standard, relevant to current learning and supportive of an appropriate learning environment.
Qualifications and skills
Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
To have effective and strong leadership skills, providing motivation, creativity and drive in the leadership of the team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A genuine passion for working with children, ensuring best outcomes for each child.
Ability to drive initiatives that improve nursery operations and enhance children's experiences.
You will have a qualification that meets the SSSC requirements for managers in childcare, you may be considered if you are part way through this training. Ideally the successful candidate will also have a minimum of four years Early Learning and Childcare experience with two years in a previous leadership/management role.
