We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of staff, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staff scheduling and resource allocation
Lead and motivate a team of childcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and education
Develop and implement educational programmes that promote children's development in line with early childhood education standards
Oversee the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns
Organise training sessions and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills
Maintain accurate records relating to children's progress, attendance, and staff rotas
Ensure the nursery adheres to all legal requirements, including safeguarding policies and licensing standards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided
Requirements
Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
Experience working directly with children, demonstrating understanding of their developmental needs
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Childcare Diploma or equivalent)
Valid driving licence is desirable for travel between nursery locations or community engagement activities
