Role Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee our Childcare on Domestic Premises (CODP) mini nursery on a self-employed basis. In addition to managing the nursery, the manager will act as the key person for a group of children, supporting their individual development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. Serve as key person for assigned children, building strong relationships and monitoring their progress. Maintain compliance with Ofsted, EYFS standards, and safeguarding regulations. Lead and support nursery staff, ensuring correct staff-to-child ratios are maintained. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and curriculum plans tailored to the setting. Plan and deliver activities aligned with EYFS objectives to support child development. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals. Manage administrative tasks, including record-keeping, staff schedules, and inspection preparations. Oversee health and safety, conduct risk assessments, and ensure emergency procedures are in place.

Requirements:

Level 3 or higher in Early Years Education (e.g., NVQ Level 3, Early Years Educator, or equivalent). At least two years' experience in a leadership or management role within an early years environment. Comprehensive understanding of EYFS, safeguarding practices, and Ofsted requirements. Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Level 3 (or willingness to obtain). Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children as their key person.

Contract Type:

Self-employed, with responsibility for nursery management and key person duties for assigned children.
