Job Description

Leeds Montessori School and Day Nursery is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly organised Nursery Manager to lead our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in early years education and management, who shares our commitment to providing high-quality, child-centered care based on the Montessori philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and education. Lead, support, and inspire a team of early years practitioners, ensuring professional development and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Promote and implement the Montessori approach to early education, integrating it into daily routines and planning. Build strong, effective relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals. Manage nursery budgets, staffing levels, and resources efficiently. Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene practices are rigorously maintained. Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring children are achieving their developmental milestones. Lead by example, demonstrating excellent practice in all areas of the setting.

Requirements:

Level 3 or above qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Degree or Montessori qualification desirable). Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in a nursery setting. Sound knowledge of the EYFS, child development, and safeguarding procedures. Familiarity with the Montessori philosophy and willingness to embrace it fully in practice. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage administrative tasks, budgets, and staff rotas effectively. A positive, proactive, and nurturing attitude.
