We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of staff, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Duties
Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation
Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and socialisation
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in accordance with health and safety regulations
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members
Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage at all times
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including safeguarding policies and early years frameworks
Keep accurate records of children's development, attendance, and incidents
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the nursery to enhance service quality
Qualifications
Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team
Experience working directly with children in early childhood settings
Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education standards
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential; further qualifications in early childhood education are desirable
Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children or supplies as required
Ability to organise workload effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail
