Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and maintaining high standards of childcare. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes learning, growth, and wellbeing for both children and staff.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Oversee daily activities to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery in accordance with regulatory standards. Develop and implement educational programmes tailored to the needs of children aged from infancy to preschool age. Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene within the nursery environment. Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication and regular updates on children's progress. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to childcare provision and early childhood education. Organise staff rotas, manage resources efficiently, and oversee administrative tasks related to nursery operations. Promote a positive team culture centred on teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Drive initiatives that enhance the quality of childcare services offered by the nursery.

Requirements

Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members. Experience working with children across various age groups; knowledge of early childhood development is essential. Childcare qualifications such as early Years Educator in Childcare or equivalent recognised certification. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to organise schedules effectively whilst maintaining flexibility to meet operational needs. Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between multiple nursery sites or community engagement activities. A genuine passion for early childhood education and child welfare. Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in childcare provision.
