We are a small family owned and run group of two day nurseries and we are seeking a dedicated, fun and experienced Nursery Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role offers an opportunity to create a nurturing environment for children while ensuring the smooth running of the nursery. Applicants should have relevant experience in childcare settings, minimum Level 3 qualification and be committed to maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, education and care.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
Lead and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
Work closely with parents and support growth in nursery occupancy
Foster a safe, fun, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children and staff and ensure high levels of safeguarding and compliance
Maintain effective communication and develop close working relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and wellbeing
Oversee administrative tasks such as record keeping, grants, and fees
Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all times
Organise staff rotas, recruitment, training sessions, and performance reviews
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery quality
Skills
Proven management and leadership abilities within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive experience working with children, ideally in a private day nursery
Strong understanding of child development principles and childcare regulations
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively whilst maintaining high standards of care
Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
Good interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and external partners
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting supplies or attending external meetings or training sessions
