We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our childcare facility. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure the delivery of high-quality early childhood education, and foster a safe, nurturing environment for children. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for child development and childcare. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in maintaining organisational standards and supporting staff to deliver exceptional care.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
Lead and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
Develop and implement engaging educational programmes aligned with early childhood development principles
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to promote a welcoming environment
Manage administrative tasks including planning rotas, maintaining records, and ensuring regulatory compliance
Organise staff meetings and training sessions to promote continuous professional development
Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and stimulating for children's learning and play
Monitor children's progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development
Named person in charge responsible for all operational and regulatory requirements
Lead, engage and inspire the team to deliver exceptional care

Skills
Proven management and leadership abilities within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of nursery regulations and health & safety standards
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are desirable
Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively
Driving licence is advantageous for operational flexibility

Essential Qualifications - Minimum Early Years Level 3 childcare qualification as recognised by the Department for Education.
Essential Experience - Minimum of two years' experience of working in an Early Years setting in a manager or deputy role, or at least two years' other suitable experience. Knowledge and experience of; delivering the EYFS, Ofsted inspections and working with children with Special Educational Needs.
