An Opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the day to day operation of a busy 42 place outstanding setting based in Penarth.
Candidates will need to have managed settings of a similar size together with having a track record of CSSIW Inspections.
Job Purpose
Oversee the operation of the nursery and lead the staff team in outstanding practice, ensuring that the best possible enabling environment and care is provided.
Safeguarding children, ensuring excellent education and childcare whilst maintaining a safe, secure and caring environment
Lead the development and monitoring of high-quality learning and teaching and coordinating the cohort data
Support staff team with consistently motivating and inspiring practice
Go the extra mile in delivering the nursery's vision and inspiring the staff team
Duties
Oversee the day to day management and organisation of the nursery
Develop the ethos of the nursery, leading the strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the nursery working within the Leadership team and contributing to monthly Management meetings
Conduct weekly Leadership meetings with the Deputy Manager and Room Leaders Partake in the recruitment process, interviewing prospective candidates and overseeing new staff members induction
Be responsible for the appraisal process of staff team and supervisions of Deputy Manager and Room Leaders
Manage staff sickness, holiday and overtime
Encourage staff development by supporting members of the team, Facilitating practitioners in reviewing practice through peer observations
Identify staff training needs and facilitate training opportunities
Show prospective parents around the nursery
Lead the staff team, providing a caring and stimulating environment in order to encourage and develop children in our care
Lead staff, student and voluntary workers, motivating and inspiring the team, role modelling outstanding practice
Ensure all daily routines are adhered to and records kept up-to-date
Oversee the planning and implementation of activities and complete learning and development audits in line with the Early Years Foundation Phase and Montessori ethos.
Ensure children get the best start in life by leading a team who work in close partnership with parents/carers to develop independence, confidence and self-esteem. Building the children's resilience and well-being.
Work closely with multi-agency professionals as needed to support individual children Liaise closely with other members of the Management team in implementing and updating policies and procedures, ensuring these are adhered to by staff members
Oversee Parent's Days and other Nursery Events Lead opening and closing procedure and have key holder responsibility
Keep informed of current Early Years issues and be proactive in the continuation of your own learning to improve the outcomes for children and their families.
To take reasonable care of yourself and others ensuring specific duties regarding Health & Safety and Fire Procedures are understood and adhered to.
Have a clear understanding and lead with CSSIW requirements and legislation
