Milestone Garden Centre is celebrating 20 years of successful trading. As part of our continued growth, we introduced a large production nursery to the business last year, which has become a key operational asset. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated

Nursery Manager

to work across both our

production nursery and retail nursery

, ensuring high standards of plant quality, availability, and presentation.

This is a hands-on management role suited to an individual with strong horticultural knowledge, leadership capability, and a passion for plant production and retail excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day management of operations across the production and retail nurseries Planning, coordinating, and overseeing plant production to meet retail demand Maintaining high standards of plant health, quality, and presentation Leading, supervising, and supporting nursery staff Organising and prioritising daily workloads, rotas, and seasonal tasks Hands-on involvement in watering, potting, pruning, feeding, and general plant care Managing stock movement between production and retail areas Assisting with loading and logistics as required Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards across all nursery operations

Candidate Requirements:

Strong practical knowledge of garden plants and horticultural practices Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within horticulture, nurseries, or garden centres Horticultural qualifications are highly desirable Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Strong organisational and communication skills Able to lead by example in a fast-paced, seasonal environment Physically capable of undertaking hands-on nursery work when required

Working Pattern:

The business operates seven days per week Working on a fortnightly rota One fixed weekday off each week Alternate weekend working
