Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced term-time Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, whilst leading a team of childcare professionals. This role requires strong management skills, a passion for early childhood education, and excellent communication abilities to liaise effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies.

Duties



Manage the overall running of the nursery, including staffing, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory standards. Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to ensure high-quality childcare and professional development. Develop and implement educational programmes tailored to the developmental needs of children in line with early childhood education principles. Foster positive relationships with children and their families, providing guidance and support as needed. Organise staff rotas, oversee daily activities, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in attendance. Maintain accurate records related to children's progress, attendance, and health information. Ensure the nursery complies with health and safety regulations and maintains a clean, welcoming environment. Coordinate with external agencies for inspections, training sessions, and community engagement initiatives. Drive the nursery's vision forward by promoting best practices in childcare delivery.

Requirements



Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team effectively. Experience working directly with children and understanding of child development principles. Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and childcare regulations. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential; additional qualifications in early childhood education are desirable. Ability to organise workloads efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail. Compassionate approach to working with children and families, demonstrating patience and professionalism at all times.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 16.00-18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 37.5 per week
