Nursery Operations manager
to join our growing team and help ensure the smooth running of our nurseries.
About the Role
As
Nursery Operations manager,
you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards across our settings. This is a hybrid role combining on-site visits with structured work-from-home responsibilities. You'll work closely with nursery managers, directors, and staff to provide oversight, guidance, and strategic input into all areas of nursery operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee monthly audits (IEPs, safeguarding, H&S, planning, supervision logs)
Support and supervise nursery managers including annual reviews
Prepare for Ofsted inspections and conduct internal learning walks
Lead room and staff observations
Manage nursery development plans and track impact of improvements
Support recruitment and staff induction processes
Coordinate marketing content, newsletters, and social media updates
Handle payroll, budgets, staff recognition, and well-being initiatives
Organise and audit staff training, appraisals, and compliance
Liaise with local training bodies and funding forums
Support disciplinary processes and manage agency communication
Maintain accurate records for DBS and disqualification checks
What We're Looking For
Experience in early years education and nursery management
Strong organisational and communication skills
A self-starter who can manage tasks independently
Sound knowledge of Ofsted requirements and early years best practices
Comfortable using digital tools for communication, reporting, and planning
A team player with a proactive approach to supporting others
Able to delegate and manage the nursery managers
Must have childcare qualifications, minimum level 3
Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in childcare and 4 years of management
