We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong background in early childhood education. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their development and learning through engaging activities.
This role is term time only (39 weeks per year) and is for a minimum of 12 hours, up to 25 hours per week (depending on the needs of the nursery). Hours are between 8am and 4pm daily.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 2-5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
In conjunction with the team, plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Manage daily routines, ensuring that children's needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and support children's learning journeys.
Observe and assess children's progress, sharing these with the team and with parents.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and organised nursery space, including helping to set up and pack away each day.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continually improve practice.
Requirements
Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
A qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3) is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage groups of children effectively while promoting positive interactions.
A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
