We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their development through engaging activities and personalised care. The Nursery Practitioner will work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Provide high-quality childcare in a safe and caring environment
Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with parents and colleagues
Support children's individual needs, ensuring personalised care plans are followed
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members through effective communication
Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating nursery environment
Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, nap times, and outdoor play
Lead by example in promoting good behaviour and social skills among children
Contribute to the organisation of nursery events and activities
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
Strong management and leadership abilities to guide junior staff and organise daily activities
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
Childcare qualification such as Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent is preferred but we are open to supporting a commitment to gain the qualifications which we will support.
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities
A genuine passion for child development and education
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the nursery schedule
