We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner SENCo to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery setting. This role involves providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, fostering their development through play-based learning and structured activities. We are looking for a SENCo to join our team. Level 3 desired but in-house training will be completed.
The Early Years SENCO will:
Work with the manager of the setting to regularly review the SEND policy and practice within the setting and agree how it will be implemented.
Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the setting's SEN policy, and for coordinating provision across the setting.
Implement SEN support and the graduated approach of: assess, plan, do, review to
meet the outcomes identified for the child
Support individual practitioners in implementing the approach for individual
children.
Meet the requirements for record-keeping in a way that supports a participative decision-making process.
Responsibilities
Create and implement engaging educational activities that promote children's physical, emotional, and social development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, communicating effectively with parents and guardians.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop a cohesive learning environment that supports the individual needs of each child.
Assist in managing daily nursery operations, including maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the nursery space.
Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members and volunteers as needed.
Skills
Strong management and leadership abilities to effectively oversee nursery operations.
SENCo experience within Early Years
Proven experience working with children, demonstrating a deep understanding of childcare practices.
Previous nursery experience is highly desirable, particularly in an early childhood education setting.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for potential off-site activities or outings with children.
A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering children's growth in a supportive environment.

Pay: Up to 31,000.00 per year
