Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners.

The Role

- To work as a Level 2 or 3 qualified part time nursery practitioner. You will be based at our newest setting, Crossway Park Nursery, but you may be required to work at one of our sister settings if the need arises.

Career Progression and Training -

You will receive update training for all mandatory courses and you will also have the opportunity to participate in further training as part of our commitment to your ongoing CPD. The bank staff position may lead to a more permanent position within the nursery group.

Main duties and responsibilities

To support the management, leadership team and existing practitioners in all aspects of the setting.

CARE AND EDUCATION



To contribute to creating a purposeful, stimulating environment that is rich in learning opportunities, both indoors and outdoors when at work.

To assist core staff members in maintaining daily routines for the nursery and for individual children, and all relevant routines are recorded such sleep times, nappy changes and daily parent sheets are completed and sent home after each session.

To ensure all children reach their full potential with carefully planned activities and experiences that are centred around the child.

To manage behaviour effectively and monitor the other staff members practice in behaviour management.

To ensure children have FUN every day!

To ensure children are listened to, and their thoughts, ideas and contributions are valued on a daily basis.

To mindful of realistic expectations for the age group and monitor and respond to other staff's expectations of children.

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN



To safeguard children at all times whilst at the nursery setting.

To report any concerns and observations with the DSL immediately.

To familiarise yourself with our nursery policy on Safeguarding Children and follow all nursery policies and procedures in relation to this.

To keep both Prevent Duty and Safeguarding Children training up to date.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES



To follow nursery policies and procedures at all times.

To promote the health, safety and wellbeing of the children and other professionals within the building assisting in daily risk assessments and reporting any hazards to room leaders or managers.

To ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed in line with local authority and company procedures, ensure your team respond appropriately to safeguarding issues and report any safeguarding concerns or issues with management immediately.

Respond appropriately to issues regarding confidentiality.

To maintain confidentiality at all times.

To contribute to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.

To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately - in accordance with child protection and whistleblowing policies.

GENERAL



Promote equality and diversity within the nursery, challenging any behaviour which does not support our inclusive practice and equal opportunity policy.

To be flexible within working practice of the nursery and be prepared to help if needed, including overtime, undertaking domestic jobs and cooking

Attend staff meetings and training sessions necessary for continuing professional development where appropriate.

To undertake any other aspects of nursery work according to need.
