Nurturing Personality:
Warmth, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children. The ability to prioritise children's needs, support their moral, social, and cognitive development, and set fair and consistent boundaries.
Communication Skills:
Confident in using professional language in emails, phone calls, and face-to-face interactions. Able to work effectively as part of a team, fostering cooperation and positive relationships with colleagues and families.
Time Management:
Reliable and punctual, with the ability to organise daily routines and complete tasks within required timeframes.
Inventory Management:
Able to monitor, maintain, and request resources to ensure smooth daily operations.
Physical Energy:
The role requires stamina, physical dexterity, and the ability to meet the demands of a busy nursery environment.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong ability to work collaboratively, respect colleagues' input, and contribute positively to the nursery culture.
Listening Skills:
Attentive, responsive, and able to follow directions carefully, with good use of non-verbal communication.
Patience:
Calm and adaptable, able to remain professional and composed in challenging or high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all nursery areas are kept safe, clean, and welcoming.
Check and maintain appliances, equipment, and fixtures, reporting any issues promptly.
Carry out kitchen tasks including food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring all equipment is used safely and efficiently.
Support the delivery of nutritious meals and snacks in line with dietary requirements.
Welcome and assist visitors, including conducting nursery tours.
Assist with laundry, clothing care, and minor repairs.
Monitor appliances for correct operation and safe use.
Support children with daily routines and activities, both indoors and outdoors.
Drive children to and from school where required (full driving licence preferred).
