We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Your ability to communicate effectively and lead activities will be essential in fostering the development of each child in your care..This job will be a minimum of 30 hours a week to a maximum of 40 hours.
Duties
Provide high-quality care and education
to children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional security at all times.
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities
that promote learning through play, tailored to the individual developmental needs and interests of each child.
Observe, assess, and record children's progress
, using observations to inform planning and support each child's development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
, offering regular updates on their child's progress, discussing milestones, and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with colleagues
to foster a supportive and positive team environment, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices to enhance the overall provision.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised nursery environment
, ensuring all toys, equipment, and resources are appropriate, well-maintained, and accessible.
Engage in ongoing training and professional development
, actively seeking opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and practice in early years education and care.
Skills
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS):
A deep understanding of the framework that supports children's learning and development from birth to five years old.
Sound understanding of safeguarding:
Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
Understanding of the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning:
Ability to implement approaches that support how children engage with people and their environment.
Proven experience working with young children:
Previous experience in a nursery or similar early years setting is essential.
Solid grasp of early childhood education principles:
A comprehensive understanding of best practices that promote children's development and learning.
Excellent communication skills in English:
Strong verbal and written skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
Driving ability (advantageous):
A full driving licence may be beneficial for transporting resources or attending off-site activities.
Nurturing and creative approach:
A caring attitude, patience, and creativity to support and inspire young children in their educational journey.
