Job Description

Little Spuds Day Nursery, a small home from home nursery based in Baguley.

Level 2 and 3 Nursery Practitioners

To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care of the children. To implement and adhere to a consistent daily routine both indoors and outdoors that meets the developmental needs of all children. To plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for the children. To maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, as well as current issues surrounding the Early Years. To understand fully, and adhere to the company's policies and procedures at all times. To work great in a team. To offer lots of challenging but achievable activities.

General responsibilities



To observe the children and use this information to plan for their future learning and development needs.
To keep a detailed monthly record of each child's learning and development needs.
To regularly update each child's learning journey on Tapestry.
To develop and maintain good relationships with parents and provide them with positive feedback on their child's day.
To ensure that meal times are pleasurable and sociable and that opportunities for the children to gain independence and learn new skills are fostered.
To ensure that the environment meets the needs of the individual child and promotes the diversity and equality of the modern society that they live in.
To provide comfort and a feeling of security for all the children.
To work as part of the nursery team.
To attend regular staff meetings.
To attend training courses arranged by the nursery.
To participate in regular parents progress meetings.
To ensure that high levels of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times throughout the nursery.
To encourage the children to adopt good hygiene procedures through modelling good practices.
To ensure health and safety practices are upheld, including identifying risks and reporting them to the Duty Manager.
To be flexible with working practices and to be prepared to help throughout the nursery when necessary.
To respect the confidentiality of information about individual children.
To be familiar with and to follow all of the nurseries policies.
To be good role models to trainees and students and to give support and guidance where necessary.
To manage children's behaviour in a positive manner in accordance with the nurseries behaviour policy.
To manage and record all accidents in line with current procedures.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
