We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in early years childcare and education and a genuine love for working with children. This role involves working as part of a team within the 3+ Education Room, supporting a child with Additional Learning Needs on a 1:1 basis. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment as well as attending to the specific social, emotional, educational and personal needs of a child. You will liaise regularly with external support agencies and take leadership guidance from the Setting Leader. Your skills and knowledge will be essential in managing daily activities and ensuring that the child's individual needs are met.
Responsibilities within the Room
Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years in accordance with the Curriculum in Wales
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
Plan and implement engaging activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Manage daily routines, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to support their development.
Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery environment and encourage parental involvement.
Collaborate with team members to create a supportive atmosphere conducive to learning.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting.
Qualifications
A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Some spoken Welsh is deisrable.
A genuine passion for childcare and early childhood education with a focus on child-led play and development.
Ability to drive initiatives that promote children's learning experiences.
Knowledge of child development theories and practices related to early years education.
