Job Description

Job Purpose



To provide high-quality care and early years education to children aged 0-5 in line with the EYFS framework, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can learn, develop, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities - Childcare & Development



Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences following the EYFS. Support children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development. Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning. Key person responsibilities including observations, planning, and maintaining learning journals. Promote positive behaviour, independence, and self-esteem in all children.

Safeguarding & Safety



Follow safeguarding policies and report any concerns to the DSL immediately. Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and risk assessments are completed. Comply with health & safety procedures, including hygiene, first aid, and accident reporting. Maintain ratios and supervise children at all times.

Parent & Staff Relationships



Build positive, professional relationships with parents/carers. Provide daily feedback and updates on children's progress and well-being. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a supportive, inclusive environment. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and contribute to continuous improvements.

Record Keeping & Compliance



Complete observations, planning, and assessments in line with EYFS requirements. Maintain accurate records, including accident forms, medication forms, and attendance. Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, Ofsted, and nursery policies.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience



Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent). Strong understanding of the EYFS framework. Experience working with children aged 0-5. Good communication and organisational skills. Ability to work well in a team and use initiative.

Desirable



Paediatric First Aid certificate. Safeguarding training. Experience working as a key person. Knowledge of SEND and inclusive practices.

Passionate about early years education and child development. Warm, caring, and patient approach. Reliable, proactive, and committed to high standards. Able to build strong relationships with children, families, and staff.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 25,000.00-28,000.00 per year

Licence/Certification:

Level 2/3 in Childcare & Education (preferred)
Work Location: In person
