Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team of 20 staff in our beautiful setting registered for 73 children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery setting. This role requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality childcare. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow.

Duties



Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Plan and implement engaging activities that promote children's development across all areas of learning. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's well-being. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, ensuring effective communication with parents regarding their child's achievements. Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and organised at all times. Support the management team in leading staff and contributing to the overall operation of the nursery. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.

We pay "the real living wage" of 12.60 as a minimum. Flexibility of working days and hours can be accommodated. Opening hours 7.30am-5.30pm Your birthday off work as paid holiday. Potential to increase holiday allowance through time at the company.

Requirements



Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential. A minimum of Level 3 childcare qualification is highly desirable. Level 1 safeguarding. First Aid Pediatric Level 3. Strong management and leadership skills to guide and support fellow practitioners. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative. A valid driving licence is advantageous for potential off-site activities or outings. Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in childcare.
