To provide a high standard of care, learning, and development for children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and the nursery's policies and procedures. To create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Childcare and Education
Deliver high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years.
Plan and implement engaging activities that support each child's learning and development in line with the EYFS.
Observe, assess, and record children's progress, maintaining up-to-date learning journals.
Encourage independence, confidence, and curiosity in all children.
2. Safeguarding and Welfare
Ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare promoted at all times.
Follow nursery policies on child protection, health & safety, and confidentiality.
Conduct daily risk assessments and maintain a clean, safe environment.
3. Teamwork and Communication
Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Communicate positively with colleagues, parents, and carers to build strong relationships.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and development opportunities as required.
4. Record Keeping and Compliance
Maintain accurate records of attendance, accidents, and incidents.
Comply with Ofsted and EYFS regulations and support inspections when required.
Uphold nursery values, equality, and inclusion at all times.
Requirements
Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
in Early Years Education or Childcare.
Good understanding of the
EYFS framework
.
Experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery or early years setting.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A caring, patient, and positive approach.
