Overview

We are seeking a caring and attentive Nursery & Pre Prep Lunchtime Assistant to join our early childhood education team. This role involves supervising children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety, and supporting their social and emotional development in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, possess strong classroom management skills, and demonstrate a genuine passion for early childhood care and education.

Days and Hours of Work - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 11am till 2pm (All Year Round)

Duties

Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring safe eating habits and proper behavior Assist children with opening lunch containers and choosing healthy snacks Engage children in social interactions, encouraging positive behavior and cooperation Maintain a clean and organized dining area before, during, and after lunch Support children with special needs or disabilities as required Observe and report any concerns related to children's health or behavior to the appropriate staff Promote a warm, inclusive environment that fosters social skills and emotional well-being Assist with classroom transitions before and after lunchtime as needed

Skills

Experience with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or babysitting preferred Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques First aid certification is highly desirable Experience working with children with disabilities or special educational needs is a plus Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young children and team members Compassionate, patient, and attentive to children's individual needs Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of early childhood education principles and caregiving best practices
