About Us:
We are a large, home-based childminding setting that offers a unique blend of warmth, professionalism and adventure for children aged 6 months to 4 years. Run by a small team (myself, my husband Nic, and assistant Amanda), our environment feels like family, with the quality and professionalism of a boutique nursery.
We maintain a
1:3 ratio
, giving every child personalised attention and bespoke care.
Our days are packed with
adventures
: we use our 15-seater minibus for regular outings to forests, the seaside, farms, zoos, soft play, aquariums and more.
All meals are home-cooked
by Nic, a qualified chef and nutritionist. Lunch is included for staff!
Our much-loved cockapoo,

Role Overview:
We're looking for an experienced, confident and creative
Room Leader / Assistant Manager
to join our setting and support both the day-to-day care of children and the behind-the-scenes running of the setting. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role in a small but highly active environment without the added pressure of maxed out ratios.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a group of children, providing rich, engaging, child and adult led learning experiences
Step in to help manage the setting in the owner's absence
Support and guide other staff members
Assist with administrative tasks: observations, learning journeys, parent updates, 2-year progress checks
Help plan fun, creative activities both in and out of the setting
Maintain excellent communication with parents
Uphold safeguarding and EYFS standards at all times
What We're Looking For:
Minimum
Level 3 Early Years qualification
Prior experience leading or supporting in a setting
Strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding
Organised and confident with admin (e.g. reports, assessments)
Creative and full of ideas
Shows initiative, warmth and reliability
A genuine love of children, outdoor play, and learning through experience
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience in a home-based or mixed-age setting
Familiarity with My Baby's Days or similar systems
Paediatric First Aid and Enhanced DBS
Driving licence
