Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Room Leader to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a genuine passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, ensuring high standards of care and educational engagement. The Nursery Room Leader will be responsible for guiding staff, fostering positive relationships with children and parents, and maintaining compliance with childcare regulations.

Responsibilities



Lead and supervise nursery staff to ensure smooth daily operations and delivery of high-quality care. Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational activities that promote children's development. Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and wellbeing. Ensure the nursery complies with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding policies. Organise staff rotas, monitor attendance, and support team development through training and mentorship. Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, activity planning, and reporting as required. Assist with driving responsibilities when necessary to facilitate outings or pick-ups/drop-offs.

Requirements



Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices. Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred. Ability to organise tasks efficiently while maintaining a nurturing approach towards children. A genuine passion for early childhood development and creating enriching experiences for young learners.
