Level 3 Childcare Qualification - Essential

40 hours | Permanent

Salary: 27,476.80 per annum + Qualification Bonus:

This bonus will be paid after just 6 months of service, making it the perfect time to join our team and be recognized for your qualifications and contributions. (based on a 40hr working week, bonus will be pro-rota for part time staff)

About Kids Play Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery

Kids Play is a well-established nursery within the community with a glowing reputation and long-standing team members ranging up to 20 years' service. We are very proud to be rated at GOOD by Ofsted.


Our nursery has a wonderful 4 rooms across the nursery, ranging ages from 6 weeks old to school age. The rooms have gardens, offering endless opportunities for the outdoor learning and brining in forest school sessions for all ages!

Our nursery is open from 7:30am - 18:30pm and we would require you to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times. (shift times can start from 7:15am)

Room Leader duties and responsibilities*:

Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development Assist staff in updating the EyLog system and their child learning journals with the highest quality Promote respect and credibility for this position by leading as a role model with impartiality and consistency Assist with embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met

Room Leader requirement and skills:

Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) - Desirable Over 1 year's experience working in Early Years - Essential Over 6 months' experience working in a senior position - Desirable Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential
