Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate

experienced Room Lead or an experienced Early Years Practitioner who wants to progress their career, minimum Early Years Level 3 +

to join our team. We are looking for either an to join our dedicated and talented team of 14 at our Cambridge city centre nursery, CB1 2DG.

The Role:

This role is essential in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, ensuring their safety and promoting their development. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in early childhood education, enabling them to effectively manage a team while fostering positive relationships with children and parents alike. The newly employed Room Leader will support the Nursery Manager and assist in all aspects of the day to day operations of the baby room. Initial training and induction will be provided from management, with ongoing support provided as necessary.

The ideal candidate:

Must have a passion and enthusiasm for working with children and the ability to work calmly, patiently and communicate effectively with parents, staff and children. To be able to work with a diverse range of children with different individual needs, requiring good organisational skills and timekeeping.

Responsibilities



Lead and supervise the nursery team, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained. Develop and implement engaging activities that promote children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns. Manage daily operations within the nursery room, including maintaining a safe and clean environment. Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and planning next steps for individual learning. Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages children to explore, learn, and grow. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment focused on the well-being of all children in care.

Skills



Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire a team of childcare professionals. Background in early childhood education or related field is essential. Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. A genuine passion for childcare and commitment to fostering children's development through play-based learning. Capability to drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's educational offerings and overall environment.

Qualifications:



We welcome applications from candidates with at least 1 of the following:

Vocational Qualifications at Level 3 or above:

NVQ level 3 in childcare or equivalent

Cache Level 3 Diploma in Childcare,

Level 4/5 NVQ'S, Foundation Degree, Diplomas of higher education, HND, HNC, BTEC (including early years teaching qualifications from an EU country)

Level 6 EYTS, EYPS, QTS

Early years qualifications from the EU countries

(We offer work based training opportunities at CACHE L2/L3 for unqualified candidates. We cover the costs of the training and DBS.)
