Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire your room team to provide high-quality childcare and education. Plan, deliver, and evaluate fun and engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework. Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in your care. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Maintain accurate records, observations, and reports. Support and mentor junior staff to achieve their best.
Requirements

Level 3 childcare qualification

(essential). Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and EYFS standards. A genuine passion for childcare and helping children to thrive.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, adhering to health and safety regulations. Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's development and daily activities. Supervise staff performance, providing guidance and support as needed to enhance their professional growth. Organise activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development in children. Keep accurate records of children's progress and maintain documentation as required by regulatory bodies. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive learning environment that meets the needs of all children.

Qualifications

Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential. Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Previous nursery experience is highly desirable, demonstrating an understanding of early years frameworks. A background in early childhood education or related qualifications would be advantageous. Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds is beneficial. A valid driving licence may be required for certain duties or activities related to the role.
